I keep thinking about the name "Craft Your Own Adventure" and what it is supposed to mean.  Is it dangerous to make beer?  Can the process of fermenting mead kill you?  Why would you call this an adventure?

I recently went on my own adventure, canoeing down the Colorado River with a group of dads and our kids. I realized that we all need some sort of adventure in our life.  Sitting behind a computer, driving in the car, watching TV in bed...those aren't the things that make an impact on our lives.  Getting out into nature, doing something that makes us nervous or making those big decisions that alter our lives forever, those are the adventures.  The rest is just life filler.

Don't get me wrong.  I am in no way saying that beer or other alcoholic beverages are the cornerstone to those events...however they always seem to be there.  When was the last time you went to a wedding and alcohol wasn't served?  Or that fishing trip without a beer in hand?  Or celebrating a major life milestone?

So my thought here is that we can enhance the experience by bringing a more personal touch to those events.
  • Planning a wedding?  What if the wedding party (or the bachelor or bachelorette party) made the beer that would be served at the wedding reception?
  • Got a big birthday coming up?  Celebrate the big 5-0 (or 6-0 or 7-0, etc) with a beer that you created with friends.
  • Got a big campout coming up?  Brew a beer to take out into nature with you.
  • Plan a team building event to brew a beer before a company meeting or party.
  • Running a marathon? Have your running club celebrate finishing the race with a cold beverage you crafted yourself.

It doesn't have to be a big deal but you can make it a more personal experience with a beverage you crafted by hand.

If you have an event in mind or want to plan a custom brew day for your group, let us know.  We can work with the brewer to make your special event beverage for your special occasion.

Also, look for some CYOA adventures coming up in the near future.  I'm going to try to plan some things that we hope you will really enjoy.

Cheers!
